Life Flight

I'm glad these guys are available, but I really hate to see them pull up outside my office. Someone's gotten hurt or ill, and at +$10,000 a flight, it's serious.
This was taken about 8:50 am, still full dark, though I think sunrise should be starting around 9:30 am.

Sunrise at 10:10 am

The sun was trying to show up this morning, but it's being blocked by the clouds. It was very, very red/orange. Too bad I can't capture that color with my little camera.

Foundation Update

Valda sent me a few new pictures. This one is from a few days ago. The floor decking is all on and all the snow has been washed away by the rain.

This one is from today. It's not raining, but the snow is back. You can see here how the living room & master bedroom will overhang the basement by a bit.

Here are the cistern tanks in the basement (just not hooked up to anything).

Ray is supposed to get up there and get the back filling all done this week, then Paul and his crew can start framing in the outside walls.

Black Bear Visitor

We've had a black bear hanging around the yard since spring. Caught a glimpse of him a couple of times, but Patty finally got a couple of good pictures last week....

Monday, October 06, 2008

Well, this is not very good. We got 4 to 5 inches of snow on Sat night/Sun morning. Some of it melted off Sunday afternoon, but basically it's here to stay. About 3 weeks early which makes getting my house walls up a bit more of a pain.

Here are a few pics from Sunday afternoon...

You can see in this one, that the heat from the curing concrete has melted the snow directly above it. I'm pretty sure this isn't good for the curing process.

Crawlspace side or guest room 'wing'.

Walk out basement side - under the living room/kitchen/master bedroom.

Picture from 100108

And here is a photo Valda took for me on Thursday. Side 2 has the footers poured so the crawl space should go up shortly. Hopefully it doesn't start raining, but there there is a big storm headed in from Russia.
