The Sandhill Cranes are back. They're one of my favorite birds and we get quite a few that nest here in Homer. They've been waking me up all week, flying near the house in the early morning, though I don't really mind.
I've been trying the past couple of years to get good pictures of them, but with out much luck. I never seem to get close enough.
Here is a picture I took in 2005. Too bad it was in the evening and a cloudy night.
